On November 14, reports claimed that a clash took place between members of the All India Students Association, the Students Federation of India (SFI), and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parhad (ABVP).
The incident occurred at Jawaharlal Nehru University’s campus in the capital. Police have opened an investigation into clashes between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and the All India Students Association, (AISA) at the JNU campus. According to reports, the altercation took place on Sunday around 9:45 pm.
Students from ABVP claimed that they were hosting a meeting when a group came and attacked them. An image of a student in an ambulance was posted by the organisation. According to the ABVP, students from SFI and AISA attacked members of its organisation, including women.
RSS-backed students claimed its members suffered major injuries and were transported to AIIMS for treatment.
Both students from the two organisations filed a written complaint regarding the clashes. The official added that both sides were making accusations against the other for disrupting their meetings and starting quarrels by the other side.
Both sides have made allegations about violence and disrupting their meetings. Both sides will face legal action. Both parties have a rivalry in student politics and have clashed with one another a few times.
