Salman Khurshid’s house set on fire after controversy over his book on Ayodhya

Salman Khurshid (Senior Congress Leader)’s Nainital home was vandalised Monday after a controversy over his book, “Sunrise Over Ayodhya. Nationhood in Our Times.” Facebook photos shared by Mr. Khurshid show tall flames, charred doorways and shattered windows at his Nainital house. Two men try to quell the flames with water.

The comment was made in a Chapter called “The Saffron Sky” which is on Page 113. According to DIG (Kumaon), Neelesh anand, 21 people were charged with the incident. “Rakesh and 20 others were booked. “Strict action will take place against perpetrators,” said he.

Police said that 21 people had been arrested in connection to the incident. They promised tough action against those involved.
Digvijaya, a senior party leader, condemned the incident. Salman Khurshidi ji’s house was targeted by an attack. He tweeted, “These illiterate don’t even understand what is in The Book.”
