Sunday saw a delegation from Punjab of BJP leaders meet Prime Minister NarendraModi to request him to reopen Kartarpur before Gurupurab.
The Prime Minister was met today by Ashwani Sharma, the president of state BJP, Harjeet Singh Grwal, Tarun Chugh the National General Secretary, Dushyant Gatam, Dushyant Chautam, Tejinder Bagga the leader of Delhi BJP.
The 11-member delegation from Punjab met Modi at the official residence. It conveyed the sentiments to Guru Nanak Dev ji, BJP Punjab unit president Ashwani Sharma said to PTI.
Tarun Chugh (BJP national general secretary) was also part of this delegation. He stated that Modi’s landmark initiatives for the well being of Punjab and the Sikh communities were also acknowledged by the party leaders from Punjab.
Harjeet Sing Grewal spoke to reporters following the meeting and said that they had requested the PM to reopen Kartarpur Corridor, which was closed in March 2020 after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Many speculate that the BJP might resolve the impasse over farm laws before the elections of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh in the early part of next year.
