Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that starting January 3, 2022, youngsters between the ages of 15 and 18 will be vaccinated with the third “precaution dose” of the Covid19 vaccine, which will be given to healthcare and frontline workers across India.
“The decision to vaccinate youngsters will not only boost our fight against Covid-19, but it will also alleviate the concerns of parents whose children attend school,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a televised speech to the nation. According to the prime minister, work on a nasal vaccination and the world’s first DNA vaccine for Covid would begin soon in India.
The start of a new vaccine phase in January 2022 will bring India’s immunization journey to a year’s end, as the Covid-19 inoculation programme began on January 16, 2021. The vaccination drive also prioritized frontline employees and senior persons with serious illnesses.
