Kartarpur Sahib Corridor reopens for pilgrims today

The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor will reopen today, ahead of Guru Nanak’s birthday on 19 November. On Tuesday, the Centre’s Narendra Modi-led government announced that it would benefit large numbers of Sikh pilgrims. Guru Nanak Dev’s final resting place is Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Pakistan. Kartarpur can be found on the west bank river Ravi, where Guru Nanak Dev is.

Inaugurated in November 2019, the 4.7-kilometer-long stretch allows Indian pilgrims visa-free and easy access to the shrine in Pakistan.

The reopening was also celebrated by the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, (PSGPC).
During the entire pilgrimage, the pilgrims won’t be required to take any additional tests.
