New Delhi: India: The national capital is expected to disclose 14,000 Covid-19 cases on Thursday, only a day after breaking the 10,000-case barrier, according to Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
“Coronavirus cases in Delhi have risen sharply in recent days.” “It’ll be around 14,000 today,” Jain said.
In a statement to the media, Jain added that instead of speculating, residents should follow Covid’s guidelines. Even as Covid-19 cases continue to grow, he claimed there is no plan to implement lockdown in Delhi at this time.
Meanwhile, eight Covid deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, the most since June 26 when there were only nine deaths. With this, the total number of those killed has risen to 25,121. In Delhi, the number of active cases has risen to 1.58 percent.
Over 81 percent of the samples sequenced were determined to be infected with the Omicron variation by last weekend, indicating that the variant in question is driving the recent spike in infections.
