Punjab has been rocked by shock and horror following the discovery that videos of female Chandigarh University students appear on social media, prompting protests at the campus. An official police case has been registered amid strong reactions from all sides. These videos have also been urged not to be posted online.
After one girl student leaked a video of other students bathing, anger flared among the public. In response, Arvind Kejriwal Tweeted that stthe rictest action would be taken against those found guilty.
Harjot Singh Bains urged for calm, claiming that the incident was unfortunate. As per the first reports, protesters clashed in a late-night demonstration against the campus after a video showed more than 60 students taking a bath in a hostel, was uploaded to Facebook.
Union minister and BJP leader Som Parkash were tweeted as saying by the news agency ANI, “It’s an unfortunate incident. Police should take serious action against those involved.”

This horrific incident in Chandigarh University is not only proof of the failure of ‘Beti Bachao’ but it is another proof of how unsafe our educational institutions are becoming for women. The offender must be punished severely for this act. Very embarrassing!
